Depending on the bedstead the base will either have a sprung timber system or a boarded hard top, this will change the feel of a mattress.

Many fabric beds are available with ottoman storage, this gives you the opportunity to store items in the base of the bed.

Mattresses vary tremendously depending on spring types and fillings. Low cost sprung mattresses are generally ‘Open-Coil’, this is where large springs are linked together, otherwise known as a connected spring unit, these types of mattresses are known to transfer movement across the mattress with a bouncier feel.
